My buddy Brandon has been using bear for a while now and I have been blogging for a few years but I wanted something where I could just type something up and call it a day, so here goes.
We have a Kitchen-Aid gas range and oven and a week ago the light bulb went in it. My wife has had an at home bakery the last 3.5 years and needless to say she uses the oven A LOT! This past Saturday I told her I was going to get a replacement bulb, so I pulled it out of the oven to take with me to our local hardware store.
I live in what I would call a small town just outside the Capitol of Maine and in a few miles we have 4 hardware stores, not a single on of them had the bulb that I needed. They had a version of it, but it was for light fixtures and not appliance grade to fit in the oven.
So I drove to Augusta and I went to Lowe's and Home Depot, struck out both places and they told me I would need to probably order it off the internet. I called the Appliance store I bought it at, they don't carry them. I called several other stores and no luck. I had to order the damn thing off Amazon.
It's kind of frustrating because the push is to shop local, don't use big box stores, help the little guy, and I tried. How could a dozen stores not have a simple little light bulb.
