Memories from Music

Music is very powerful, I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I've had conversations about this topic with my wife and numerous friends.

Today I was at work listening to 98.9 WCLZ and local station out of Portland, Maine. "No Excuses" by Alice and Chains came on and I was immediately transported back to 1994 when I was 15 years old in high school and memories flooded in from time.

The next song was "Lover of the Light" by Mumford and Sons from 2012. Jumping forward nearly 20 years was a bit rough. I had a lot going on in 2012, I got divorced in April of that year, but I also met Kate, who introduced me to the music of Mumford and Sons. Listening to them made me think of her and all the feelings that came along with meeting her and falling in love with her.

The wave of emotions and memories that ran through me in 10 minutes was astounding. Music is so amazing and so powerful, I feel bad for people like my mom who think music is just noise.
