Marriott TV's are Stupid

I'm in Texas as I write this staying at the Gaylord Texan Resort, in Grapevine, I'm here for work at the Motorola Summit for 4 nights. So of course I brought my Roku stick so I could watching all my streaming services and it doesn't work. This same thing happened in March when I stayed at a Fairfield Inn & Suites in Bangor, Maine.

Looks like at Marriott hotels in their rooms they hook up their own cable style boxes to the TV that have their own custom remote controls so you can access the live tv channels, and a few streaming services like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Youtube and a couple others. There is also and option to plug in a device in the HDMI 2 port, just not a Roku TV or Amazon Fire Stick, because the TV volume is turned all the way up and you can only control the volume on their attached box with their custom remote.

As you can't control the volume with a Roku or Fire Stick you can't use them.

It's not the end of the world, but it's rather frustrating that I can't watch my streaming services. I wanted to watch the Scream movies, and a bunch of episodes of TAXI, and some old wrestling on Peacock and check out some best of the Super Juniors matches on New Japan World. It is what it is, but it just annoying.
